Info for New Members

This picture shows one of our training sessions for new members in progress. Prospective members are offered an Introductory Session just to get an idea of what the game is all about. This is followed by at least one and sometimes two structured training sessions to prepare the person for a real game. You get to try up to two real games before making a commitment to join.

                 Welcome All New Members

Welcome to the GLBC! Here is some information that all new members should know:
  • We are VERY friendly
  • We will give you all the help we can - we remember when we were new to the game.
  • You must complete at least Level1 training before you try an actual game.
  • We do not offer refunds once a membership is issued.

Fees

The First Year Membership fee for bowlers new to the game; for 2025 it is $90.00. Regular fees for 2025 are $185.00.

Anyone considering joining our club starts with an introductory session where a general overview of the game is given, including basic terminology explanations. This is followed by practical demonstrations of grip, stance and the delivery process.

All first year bowlers are offered the use of club bowls free of charge. See our Bowl Rental policy for more information.

Level 1 Trainng

Potential members are then offered a Level 1 Training Session where more indepth instruction is given. This level of instruction is comprehensive enough to prepare a person for an actual game by emphasizing grip, stance and delievery combined with weight and target line practice.

Level 1 Training must be taken before participating in an actual game.

We allow a person to play two games before making a committment to join.

Level 2 Training

Shortly after taking Level 1, new members are usually offered Level 2 Training, depending on the number of new players at that time.

This is a more intensive practice session focusing on weight and target line delivery using specific training excercises.
