Always a good time, our AGM will be held Nov 2. A good meal, awards presentations and good company are guaranteed. Reserve the date. More details to follow.
Club bowling continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Tuesday and Thursday evenings until our last day, Oct 9.

On Wednesday Sept 23, the club celebrated our 30th anniversary! Guests included dignitaries, sponsors and club members. Thanks to Barb, Kathy and Nancy for your ideas, support and hard work. Also thanks to the many behind the scenes workers.

Tuesday Sep 22, Funtastic club event. Always "FUN", teams played various formats (singles, doubles, triples, fours) in ONE event. Congratulations to winners John, Pat and Trevor

Thursday Sep 17 and Sep 25. Club championship, Mixed Doubles.
Won by Kathy and Ross, the trophy was presented by MPP George Darouze. Kathy wins another! |

Thursday Sep 10 (and Friday Sep11) Club championship, Mixed Triples.
Five teams competed in a marathon tourney that included a complete round robin of four games each, a by for fifth team when four were playing, and two days of bowling to fit it all in. Congrats to the winning team of John, Angelika and Chris. |

Tuesday Sep 1 was a random draw, mixed triples, sponsored by Capital Services. Three ten end games were played under initially damp conditions, then hot and sunny, and finally cloudy.
Ten teams competed with three teams emerging undefeated. The owners of Capital Services came to the club to congratulate the players and present awards. A lovely box of artisan chocolates was presented to each club member!
First place were Nicole, Alex and Sandy. Second place were John, Sandy and Pam. Third place were Stephen, Andrew and Gloria.

Thursday, August 6 was the club's Walter Curtis tournament for mixed triples, initially scheduled for June 18, but deferred due to bad weather. Click on the photo of the trophy presentation for more details.

Our annual August long weekend BBQ, originally scheduled for Monday Aug 3, was held on Wednesday, August 5. After the morning jitney, a scrumptious lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, vegetables, fruit and cake was served up by Chris and his team. Many thanks!

On July 30, GLBC hosted the annual open LMR LLP mixed triples (with one novice player) tournament. Congratulations to the home team for the win. Click on the photo of the trophy presentation for more details.

July 22 was our pizza day, delayed from July 15. Following the regular jitney, several local pizzerias provided lunch. The variety and taste were wonderful. Thanks to Pam and Chris for organizing. Thursday July 16 was the Kelly Cup. Eight teams, made up of three club members only, competed for the Kelly Trophy. Details here.
During the lunch break, the club presented the Rick W. Nolan Memorial Trophy to Keith. This is a new trophy to remember Rick, a keen player and sponsor who wholeheartedly supported our club. More details here.

Tuesday July 7 was the Stittsville Villa and Manor Tournament. Mixed triples with one first or second year bowler. Eight teams competed in three eight end games. A hot day with a lovely lunch provided by our sponsor.

July 1, regular Jitney followed by a BBQ. A wonderful morning before the storm hit.
On June 28, Shirley won the District 16 Women's Singles at Highland Park. Congratulations.
On June 25 the club hosted an open Mixed Pairs event, sponsored by Timberwalk Retirement Community. 12 teams competed. Congratulations to winners Bill and Pat from Almonte. A lovely lunch was provided by Timberwalk.
On June 20 the club hosted the District 16 novice open Pairs championship.

May 9 saw registration at the club on a nice sunny day. The green was mowed for the first time and is looking much better day by day. Thanks to everyone who came out.

Our tent was put up on a warm, sunny Monday, April 27. Many thanks to the club volunteers and several students. The four students were accruing their mandatory hours and have proven to be a great help. Thank you.

The GLBC "Start the Season" event was held on Thursday, April 16. A pleasant dinner at Buster's was enjoyed by all.
